Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Salad with Pepper Jelly Vinaigrette

I love Kelly’s Jelly Strawberry Habenero Jelly.  I love it with cheese and crackers, but I do find that it would take a LOT of cheese and crackers to use up a jar.  This is another great use for this delicious product.  You could also make this with a mixture of hot pepper jelly and sweet jelly.

Lentil-Pecan Pate

I have been making this recipe from Cafe Flora for years, and have adapted it to create a firmer texture than the original.  It  is a great vegan and gluten free appetizer to add to any holiday spread.  I like to serve it garnished with merlot salt and edible flowers for a more interesting presentation.

Guacamole 101

A traditional Mexican dip, guacamole has become a staple in the American diet as well.  Avocados are high in fat, but they also have a number of nutritional strengths such as a high potassium and fiber content.  

There are two main components to making the perfect guacamole.  Choosing good avocados, and properly seasoning.
